'If you could boil down just about every daydream

What the papers say....
The long and winding road to La Belle France
The Daily Telegraph, Saturday 24 June 2006 by Adam Edwards
Is it the new Dordogne or the new Tuscany?
Or simply the old Gascony
Gascony and, in particular, the Gers, is La Belle France of an Englishman's imagination. Here, bread is baked twice a day, the women wear black and the men wear berets. It is the source of Armagnac, cassoulet (sausage and bean stew) and foie gras (cheeringly there are usually more geese in the middle of its roads than Citroens).

What people who've stayed say....
"You are so lucky!" - is the comment we hear most often from people who stay.
"What an absolutely fantastic house and being able to eat out and not need to think about driving is just great!"
"We can't believe how cheap good food and wine is here - we've been to a different restaurant every day!"
"We really enjoyed just chilling out in the garden and cooking up different things that we've never tried before - it's been a real break!"
"The lady at the boulangerie said today that she's really sad that we're going home tomorrow! We can honestly say that we've never met so many nice local people on a holiday before."
"We spent virtually the whole day today at the river beach you told us about. We didn't see a soul and devoured the most delicious picnic - we won't forget today in a long, long time!"
"We can't believe that you're so central, we've only been here a week and we've been to Spain and the Atlantic coast - it's been like three holidays in one!"
"We visited the swimming lake at Plaisance today. It was great - the kids really enjoyed playing on the swings and we caught some sun on the beach. It was a really good day out. Afterwards we ate at the Ripa Alta in Plaisance, yet another fabulous restaurant!"
